Welcome, Dr Ruth Thompson as the new Chair for Manchester Homelessness PartnershipMy personal development has been enriched by my voluntary work over the years and I am keen in my role as Chair to support all VCFSE organisations working with people who experience homelessness across Manchester. As a GP for 6 years at Urban Village Medical Practice, I was part of the team of doctors, nurses and outreach workers, working with people street sleeping or unstably housed. We helped them identify their priorities for change, engage with them on these, while also improving their physical health care, including routine screening. I am no longer work at Urban Village so have independence from all areas of Manchester homeless services. Personally, I look after my mental wellbeing by singing in a choir, exercising regularly and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to working with you all and sharing the vision of working to end homeless in Manchester.
